Psychotherapy (Individual)

Sixty minute in-person or virtual therapy session

Alysha is a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) and has a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. Alysha has a passion for working with individuals, couples, and families who are currently or have previously experienced; interpersonal conflict, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and issues with coping in daily life. She has post-graduate certifications in; Addictions and Mental Health, Clinical Traumatology, Indigenous Studies, and various therapeutic modalities (including Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Structural Family Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness Practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS)).

Alysha has years of experience as a peer support worker with the Survivor Support Program at Distress Centres of Greater Toronto for four years. In that time, she has worked in-person with individuals, families, and groups who have experienced a death by suicide or homicide in their lives. She also helps with training new program facilitators and has given workshops for their annual conference on suicide loss. Previous work includes providing support for children and female-led families living in the shelter system and managing ground-breaking research in infant and mother emotional development and resiliency.
